Last night Jill and I got to try a brand new Spanish paella bar on Robertson Quay. Bomba. Wow. What a great little place with a great atmosphere.
We will most definitely be back! Bomba was the bomb! Even better, they don't have service charge and wine and cocktails were really well priced. A great new find!
It was rather busy when we arrived but we managed to get a space on the bar overlooking the kitchen which was entertaining. Great to watch head chef, Jean-Philippe Patruno at work!
We tried:
FRIED POTATO “BOMBA” 3PCS Traditional Barcelona dish of breaded and deep fried
potato and chorizo paste, served with aioli and spicy
tomato sauce
MANZANILLA OLIVES Jumbo green olives marinated in olive oil and anchovy water. Served with pork crackling and aioli
CHICK PEAS MORCILLA SPINACH Stew of pork stock, morcilla – the Spanish black
pudding, cooked chickpeas and baby spinach
PAELLA VALENCIANA Chicken leg, pork belly & chorizo slow-cooked with a saffron chicken stock & beans
We will most definitely be back! Bomba was the bomb! Even better, they don't have service charge and wine and cocktails were really well priced. A great new find!
